Check Assigned Tasks Before Approving Leaves with Deskera Leave & Attendance Manager

We provide various points of integration between our applications. Here is another example of the tight integration that exists between all Deskera Open Source Apps.

In Deskera Leave & Attendance Manager when an employee, assigned to a task in a project (in Deskera Open Source Project Management), applies for a leave for the day of the task, the system points it out to the employee.

Similarly, when the manager is approving this leave application, the system prompts that there is a task assigned to the employee during the leave period.

Of course, do not forget to check the integration setting in the eLeave administration tab!

[Update] – Deskera HRMS – October Release

Deskera HRMSWe are pleased to announce the update to our initial post about the October release of Deskera HRMS. Please read on to know more.

  • Option added to Master Configuration to allow email-id being saved as default fields
  • Multiple employee id prefixes can be customized through a simple interface, just like the job-id prefixes. Earlier you were only able to maintain one prefix for employee id
  • The payslips are now displayed in reverse chronological order, with the latest payslip being the first one

In addition, 5+ bugs have been fixed as part of the latest release.

Deskera HRMS – October Release

Deskera HRMSOctober kick-starts the festive season across the world. And Deskera is kick starting the festive season for all users with new enhancements that are happening across the board, starting with Deskera HRMS.

Let us take a look at the new features that are now a part of the HRM system.

  • Advance Search added to Job Search. One can search with all parameters that go into defining a job, like Job-ID, Position, Department etc. And as with Deskera Search – its search-as-you-type, which translates into faster search
  • Export to CSV option has been added to the “All Applications Module”. This ensures that a CSV dump can be taken of all the applications that have come in through HRMS and can be easily shared
  • Option to edit Job-ID has been added while creating new job postings, providing more flexibility and easy tracking
  • Deskera HRMS has had issues in the past with non-English characters. We’ve added better support for UTF-8 characters now.

In addition, 10+ bugs have been fixed in the latest release.

Deskera eLeave – September Release

Deskera eLeave Manager got an uplift with the latest September release. With the introduction of the new features, the best leave and attendance management system just got better.

Let us take a quick look at the new enhancements:

  • Admins now have the option to add annual holidays specific to a year. Say for example during general elections, or the soccer world cup final. These holidays would not be available in other years unless they are categorized accordingly
  • A new role for HR, with greater access rights, has been added to the system. HR can now access more exhaustive reports and get the complete picture behind employee leave behavior
  • Employees now have the option to apply for leaves in multiples of half day. So if someone wants a leave for one and a half day, they can select the appropriate drop-down option and get it

In addition, soon a new UI would be added for administrators to provide restricted access to certain users based on requirement. This would provide greater flexibility than the simpler role based structure.

Indian SMBs witnessing a boom…

Indian SMBs (small & medium business) are seeing growth like never before. With the upturn in economy and cost effective and efficient alternatives available due to cloud based applications, business was never so good for a small sized company.

We have reports indicating an increase of 60% in the invoicing for our Indian clients in 2011. This is a staggering number by any means, and is a direct indication of the economic growth.

This growth was expected. With the increased usage of cloud applications, organizations are able to redirect resources to critical business activities. It is not a surprise that they are selling better than the competition

Indian SMBs which have still not gone for cloud based applications are quickly moving to not lose out to the competition. Traffic from the Indian subcontinent on Deskera’s website has increased by more than 80% this year.

It is important to note that counterparts in SE Asia and North America have switched to cloud applications some time ago, and provide testimony to its success. In this respect, Indian SMBs were slow to react and are playing catch up in the global arena. But now that the industry has woken up to the advantages of cloud, it is moving in with amazing speed.
